Seasons are divided in the year based on weather, ecology, and daylight hours in a given region. It's the axial parallelism of Earth's tilted orbit around the Sun. Half of the year (from around March 20 to around September 22), the Northern Hemisphere tips toward the Sun.  For the other half of the year, the same happens, but in the Southern Hemisphere instead of the Northern. This correlates to the solar equinox when the Sun appears directly above the equator, rather than to its north or south. On the day of the equinox, the Sun appears to rise directly east and set directly west. This occurs twice each year, around 20 March and 23 September. Likewise, the solstice is when the Sun reaches its most northerly or southerly excursion relative to the celestial equator on the celestial sphere. Two solstices occur annually, around 20–22 June and 20–22 December.  In several countries, the seasons of the year are defined as the solstices and the equinoxes.

The concept of the solstices was embedded in ancient Greek celestial navigation.  After they discovered that the Earth was spherical they devised the concept of the celestial sphere.  It was an imaginary spherical surface rotating with the heavenly bodies.  Today, the modern one does not rotate, however the stars in it do.

Musically, from the first drum and string sounds that were created, lilting echoes have enhanced or shaped our beings in every day.  Whether at a concert, movie theater, riding in our cars, classical, jazz, country and pop have intertwined with who we are and how we react.
