Salvator was a known as a provocateur, and a poet with a tempestuous and dramatic life.  Born near Naples under the shadow of Vesuvius shaped his artistic outlook, with perpetual journeys to Naples, Rome, and Florence.

Salvatore, on the other hand, was born in Florence, during the early 1900's where his father traded much like during the Middle Ages.  Giuseppe traveled not only within the mainland of Italy but also to Sicily, where he retired after the war and raised his son.  Unfortunately, his mother, Caterina, had passed away during the war.
