Randy Johnston is one of the most widely recognized, well recorded and prolific guitarists,

vocalists, and performers of his generation. He has released 14 albums as a leader for the Small World, Muse, Highnote, J Curve, Mel Bay, and Random Act labels and has appeared on dozens of recordings with other top recording artists. He is one of the most visible independent artists in the world today with many videos and audio recordings on YouTube and other social media platforms. He has traveled the world playing at venues on 5 different continents and over 50 countries which include Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, The Tokyo Jazz Festival in Japan and countless others. 

In addition to his solo career, Randy has toured and played with some of the most acclaimed artists in jazz and rock, including Lionel Hampton, Houston Person and Etta Jones, Lonnie Smith, and Joey DeFrancesco, and The Allman Brothers Band. He played for 18 years as a regular member of the Lou Donaldson Quartet.

In addition, he is a solo performer in high demand at a wide variety of venues which specialize in music from Jazz to Rock, from Country to Folk. His live performances are extremely creative and feature very distinctive versions of songs selected from Jazz, Classic Rock, Blues, and Folk idioms.

Randy is an accomplished composer and producer, having written over 50 songs and

instrumental compositions which have been recorded by both his group and by several other musicians in different styles. Randy has produced over a dozen albums for 6 record labels including Columbia.

Having now settled in Little River, South Carolina, where this charming fishing village is known for its fresh seafood, fishing charters, and annual festivals like the Blue Crab Festival, it offers a slower pace of life and is located near the bustling attractions of Myrtle Beach, where Randy now performs, when not traveling.  This vocal album of classic rock songs is a result of this transformation.
